Peacocks Fine B&B

Over the last 19 years we have established the reputation of the tearoom in our home as one of the best places to relax and enjoy traditional hospitality and good homemade food.
Now we can offer Bed& Breakfast to the same high standard in two roomy suites upstairs – the Brewery House and the Cottage. Not only do you get a bedroom with a comfortable king-size bed, antique furniture and a bathroom (or in the Cottage suite a shower-room), but in addition each suite has its own living room, furnished with a sofa-bed and more antiques, making this a comfortable base for a few days exploring Ely, Cambridge and beyond . Of course there are books and maps and wifi and TV to help you feel at home, and in the morning, a good breakfast to start the day properly.
If you prefer characterful old buildings to harsh concrete architecture, and homely antiques to stylish but uncomfortable modern furniture, we hope you’ll like our house. Admittedly we enjoy the comforts of central heating and modern plumbing, wifi and new mattresses, but at heart we’re a bit old-fashioned: this isn't one of those places where everything is painted grey and where the furniture is considered past it once it is five years old: we like comfortable old chairs, paintings, book-cases and nice wall-paper.
Disability Access Statement - Both our suites are upstairs on the first floor above the tearoom, and we have not been able to install a lift in the listed building so the B&B is not convenient for those who cannot manage stairs. There are good handrails on the stairs. Within each suite there are no further steps and the showers in each suite have only a low step on entry.
